Carrie Kravetz

Artist, Writer and Interior Designer based in Downtown Los Angeles, California.

Graduate of USC’s School of Cinema/Television and FIDM’s School of Interior Design.

Design Resume:  Design Director at Nathan Turner,  Design Associate at Kerry Joyce and Lucas Studio.

Bylines :  Entertainment Weekly, MTV,  Teen People and Reuters.

Art sold all over the world and at Nathan Turner.  Appeared in Elle Decor and on Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators”

Art is my passion. I’ve been painting since I was three years old.  I began my transition into mixed media when I was in high school.  Today, my pieces include vintage and antique ephemera, fabric, acrylic paint and gel medium, nail polish, spray paint, specialty paper,  and found objects. I  love to use the written word in my pieces, as well.

Interior Design is also an art. Not only does the room have to be aesthetically pleasing, it has to be comfortable. To me, designing a fabulous room is like creating a collage–except in 4-d.The most interesting designs come from juxtaposing different styles, colors, shapes and textures.

  1. Hi, my name is Andrew from Rcougar (a Tucson, AZ dance pop-rock band). We’re coming to LA and are looking at interesting blogs that can possibly help us out with promotion. The show is @ Silver Factory Studios in downtown LA with XVI Days (featuring members of Golden Bats, Cougar, Moving Units), Rcougar, & a DJ set by OWLS (featuring members of Rcougar). Check out some music @ myspace.com.rcougar, myspace.com/xvidays, and if you like what you hear, please email me for me details. I will love you forever. Thank you for your time.

    Keep writing,

    Andrew

Hey thanks for the rave reviews of my site http://www.latimemachines.com . One of the nicest things anyone has said about my site on the web. And few people really realize it but the crux of the site is interior design (that’s why things are rated by how they have been remodeled). Really enjoy your blog as well.

    Thanks again

  7. Hello, Carrie!
First off, I would like to mention how much I admire your blog postings on Missenscène and your particular profession. I have always appreciated design and innovation which has led me to The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to major in Visual Communications in which I am in my second year. I understand that you attended FIDM as well in order to pursue Interior Design. In addition, for my Professional Practices class I am assigned to pick an individual who is following a career path I greatly respect. I recognize that you are a current Design Director for Nathan Turner and was hoping that I could interview you about your particular job and gather some information.
I do acknowledge how eventful and active an individual such as yourself may be, so if a personal interview cannot be arrange soon, whether in person or over email, I completely understand.
Thank you so much and best regards,
