Dark Splendor & Photos of My Books…

August 18, 2010

David Lynch’s Dark Splendor

I’m not a line-stander. But Monday night, I (somehow) ended up waiting for David Lynch to sign his new ($85) art book.

I learned about the book signing via Lynch’s Twitter account, and traveled to Book Soup on Sunset Blvd at around 5:30 on Monday, bought the book and then proceeded to stand in line for approximately one and a half hours.  There were some real Lynch fans out there. The couple in line behind me had just come in from Texas for the signing. The wife actually surprised her husband (a fancy restaurateur from Dallas) with the trip because he loves Lynch so much.

Anyhow, I’m glad I met Mr. Lynch. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever encountered.

Here are some photos of other books from my eclectic book collection:

Love these books… so sexy… a woman who reads – or at least takes photos of readable things….

Interesting. I follow Mr. Lynch’s Twitter as well. I also enjoy his films, even if I don’t necessarily follow them all the time while watching. He’s quite a fellow.

Cool books you have, by the way. I’ve given away or sold hundreds and hundreds over the years. I have only a few left, though I’m still amassing more. Bibliophilia is so strange… and so fun.

I know! I love books. I have quite the collection, as I am a mixed media artist. I also love vintage ephemera.
      Thanks for your comment!
